Something you might now know about Vancouver Island is that it is covered in feral cottontail rabbits. they are everywhere. and this morning i was witness to BUNNY VIOLENCE
Those are feral domestic rabbits, not native cottontails.

Thank you.. that's what it looked like in the photos, & cottontails, as noted, aren't 'feral', they're native..those def appear to be escaped & now feral domestics.
