In 2024, Harris, the DNC, and the SuperPACs scrupulously followed Shor's advice to achieve a decline across every metric and every demographic. Urban, rural, college, non-college, young, old—you name it and Shor's mealy-mouthed centrism produced a loss.

So of course Dems still listen to him.

  1. In retrospect it makes the swing state field operation even more impressive. Candidate weighed down by quant-y messaging and the unique circumstances of her candidacy… and they still nearly pulled it off and overperformed almost every other incumbent party in the world

  2. This especially blows my mind! I think it was a good theory -- do good things and people will reward you! But by late 2023/early 2024, it clearly wasn't working. And it definitively failed in the election. So... that should settle that, right?

  3. Shor produced the best anti-Trump but nothing else coalition that the Democrats can put up now, so there’s no point in listening to him anymore

  4. Israeli born Shor now tells them that Gen Z is the most "conservative" ever so their overwhelming demands to protect Palestinians from genocide can keep being ignored.

There's an enabling reason he's always on Maher's show and partners with Anita Dunn and Kara Swisher.

  5. The “Trump is restoring order” talking point is such an idiotic one

“My safety is being threatened by that jaywalker over there and I require a military takeover to restore order! Because everyone must be safe!”

  6. After every loss, Dems say “we need to go to the center”, GOP say “we didn’t go far enough to the right”. This leads to everyone heading right. It’s BS.

  7. You keep pretending people want far left policies and you will keep electing fascists. Harris lost because Democrats refuse to enforce the Southern border and refuse to have a common sense approach to trans people. Not because they were too centrist.

  8. Obviously we should listen to the leftist strategy of attacking the Democrats in order to make ppl vote for Democrats

  9. Still want to know who it was who nixed Walz saying "they're weird" (which also energized Harris! that vibe seemed to be part of why she picked him!) and then put him in a closet for like three weeks after the convention

  10. Why quit the strategy that lost you all three branches of the federal government, the Supreme Court for a generation, and a majority of state houses, despite having a far more popular agenda?

  11. So, not only does their methodology suck, but their actual messaging does too. The KISS principle (Keep it Simple, Stupid) would work here, but the data nerds think they can keep tweak the algorithm to victory.

  12. So basically the democrats have no platform. Everything is trump this & trump that. But what is YOUR message DNC? what the hell are the people voting for if they vote democrat? "Vote for us bc we're not trump"?! Seriously? THIS ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. No wonder u look like clowns ffs, get off your asses!

  13. They already lost TWICE following this bullshit advice. Are we going for permanent fascism?? Somebody needs to slap these people into consciousness

  14. If the dems don’t change, we have no hope for the future! Why are they so quiet. Sending out tweets isn’t going to cut it!

  15. Could be that this Shor's a genius, who limited the scale of the defeat. Going even further left might bring some of your own people back, but will alienate many more voters overall.

US Democrats are getting set to make the classic UK Labour mistake. What happens then is 15-20 years out of power.
