Nice phrasing of my thoughts exactly.
Hoping this will buy continued support for Ukraine by the US (which can still disappear on a whim), is not worth all the downsides imho.
Better to eat the cost of supplying Ukraine on our own, but without the foul compromise and revolting ass-kissing.

The Americans elected Trump, not Europe. Only when they have a normal regime again, a normal president, can Europe be criticized.

Such a gross picture - putting himself behind the desk while they are all sitting on the other side - making it looks like they are their at his pleasure and that they answer to him. How could any of them agree to that?
