my mom has always had a fear of drowning her whole life (her oldest brother drowned in childhood) and recently she has been learning how to swim and sending me progress videos and now she can officially swim, i am so proud of her. i am so inspired by this and i want everyone to know how cool she is.

My mom has always been a 'hands-off' kind of parent, but after that was always very... anxious leaving us around bodies of water.
We grew up next to a large pond. Her solution was to tell us there was a pond witch named 'Jenny Greenteeth' that had hair of duckweed and pulled children under. This meant every swimming bullfrog that moved the duckweed caused us to run as far away from the pond as possible. 😂
