I don't know about AZ, but here in MI an independent commission was the right way to go. Our state is so evenly divided, we can't risk having the GOP take power again and gerrymander so horribly like they did for 40 years. We finally have a fair playing field and we can't risk that.

  1. Also Maryland and Illinois are already so gerrymandered, it's unlikely that they can flip more than 1 or 2 seats together. We all want to fight back, but many people also need a reality check.

  2. AZ has an (supposedly) independent commission. But ....the Republican that wanted to chair the commission went and changed registration from Republican to independent and it worked because we had a Republican governor. So instead of 2D & 2R plus and independent chair - it was 3-2
