(NYT Oct 23 1935) CENTER OF STAGE FOR HITLER — Opening of Games Arranged to Give Him Leading Role — BERLIN, Oct. 22. — Chancellor Adolf Hitler will play the leading role at the opening of next year's Olympics in Berlin. When athletes from all over the world have been assembled in the polo field, just outside the main stadium, the president of the International Olympic Committee and the president of the organizing committee for the Eleventh Olympics will enter the Hall of Honor. In the hall they will present to Hitler the chairmen of the various national Olympic committees. Hitler, surrounded by the chairmen, will then be conducted to his box in the Olympic Stadium. When he arrives the games will be declared officially open. Much Olympic literature issued by the German organizing committee points out that the games will occur under Hitler's patronage. The whole Olympic scene is dominated by the 249-foot Fuehrer Tower.
