I recommend Zen browser. It's based on Firefox but doesn't have any of the AI stuff. It's still officially in Beta but it's pretty stable in my experience.

Man, I've been using Firefox for over a decade, and I didn't know they added AI garbage now.
Why do good things suddenly get ruined? I definitely noticed the browser feeling a bit slower since a few months ago though.

I dug through the source code to find out what each of these do; anyone can do this via searchfox.org. TL;DR, you only need to disable:
browser.ml.enable browser.ml.linkPreview.enabled extensions.ml.enabled
Everything else is either buried under multiple clicks or gated behind your search engine.

How do you even get to the about:config thing? I went to settings and typed that in, nothing.

irritatingly, the list of Al settings in Firefox has grown. to kill them all as of today (Nov 20, 2026), go into about:config and set all of these to false (yes, you'll have to copy and paste them one by one) ยท browser.ml.enable . browser.ml.chat.enabled . browser.ml.chat.menu . browser.ml.chat.page
