Detaining people in poor conditions w/o due process wasn’t reason enough. If only SCOTUS Justices and federal judges were as interested in preserving democracy, upholding the Constitution and holding Trump accountable for wrongdoing as this federal judge is about preserving the Florida Everglades.
So the human rights violations weren’t enough to get this place shutdown…
I predict they will ignore this with some kind of b.s. appeal or just disregard it wholly.
What's kind of fucked up about this ruling, as positive as it is over-all, is that it's implied we're only closing it cause it's bad for the environment, and not also because it's a huge human rights violation concentration camp on U.S. soil.
Are the inmates freed or getting deported?
And do you really think they're gonna comply with it?
But not to preserve basic human rights and rule of law?

Glad for Seminole tribes who must have prior word here as they built a solid long-standing relationship with the Florida land, including the Everglades which is central to their identity, a natural system they view as vital to their survival & prosperity, and which they actively work to conserve✊️
