He modeled it after his favorite patio at MarALago. It’s what he wanted. I hope guidelines formally changed in future. Had wanted them changed after his 1st term. Feel Presidents can change private living spaces. Public spaces need some type of approval. It’s OUR house - POTUS only has 4 or 8 yrs!
Mar has a bit more sunshine & warm weathers than DC!
And the ocean… l enjoyed seeing photos/activity in the Rose Garden through the decades. I’m older. I can remember when the picture of John-John hit. I wondered why it was such a big deal. This white, sterile patio is unrecognizable. Needs renamd - it’s certainly no longer a “Garden”
