Exactly 💯 that's why it's so important who you vote for up and down the ballet. Every election and position is important.

If only some of that money was spent on cleaning up the corruption in the Mass state police, specifically the Norfolk DA’s office. IYKYK. Mass is where your constitutional rights go to die.

Boston and NYC are amazing places to live. Things happen there every second of every day. Jonesboro, AR can’t offer that. Miami does a lot of it but it’s not the same. It’s really hard to replace the life in those cities and an extra $10,000 in tax aren’t worth moving.

Which NGOs and Unions got all the money?

Most states have gdp increasing faster and more new business creations

I wish WA state would do this

why does anyone care if the rich go? they take money from regional economy, not put it in. if they want something they buy it from other rich people elsewhere, who buy from other rich people elsewhere, and so on. if they don't pay taxes, not one penny of what they've drained will ever be seen again.

Tax the rich corporations and individuals
Stop blaming the struggling Americans

Vermont should do the same! There's a bunch of millionaires in Vermont. Not a lot, but definitely a bunch. Perhaps a bushel.
-
Same was true in New Jersey

Thank you Sam Reich's father

Because Billionaires wont make multi-million dollar investments in ignorant, pissed off red neck trailer parks. They need clean surroundings, good transportation for shipping and receiving. A well educated workforce and low crime. But you got holy Joe demanding they vote for Christians! Oklahoma OK?

The wealthy keep moving to MA & gladly pay the tax - for quality of life, quality schools, healthy labor force, healthy kids. It’s not perfect but it’s getting there.
-
The entire idea makes me laugh. If everyone is capable of "pulling themselves up by the bootstraps" and becoming a millionaire/billionaire... Who cares if they leave an area? Or the country? Someone else would just take their place... Right?

‘The People’s Republic of Massachusetts’ is not as much a derisive moniker than a positive statement that its citizens understand that high tides float all boats.

US billionaires are not going to find another United States. We can set up the tax law however we need to to keep them from hiding money.

Blue states have been the biggest leaders for their constituents in decades now.

Can’t happen if your state is gerrymandered to the hilt and run by crazy GOP
-
Especially true for local and state wide races.

Boston is a fantastic city. Being taxed to live there is a perfectly fair trade.
-
NYC movers are still waiting for a deluge of orders for moving trucks.
-
So what if they flee. They can’t spend those dollars anywhere except in the United States.
-
At this point the extremely wealthy are mooching off the rest of us anyway, who cares, let 'em leave. They can go find somewhere else to not pay taxes (or, realistically, pay much higher taxes in most any other place they'd want to move to.)

As someone who voted for this, we can feel the difference.
In the year this went into effect, we were able to hire a fantastic head for our public transit agency and remove decades of slow zones and maintenance issues.
Every kid in Massachusetts is guaranteed breakfast and lunch at school.
