BREAKING: Supreme Court allows President Trump to take steps to implement his proposal to end automatic birthright citizenship, but lawsuits will continue.
The Trump administration wants to end automatic birthright citizenship as enshrined in the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.
The court grants a request by the Trump admin. to narrow the scope of nationwide injunctions imposed by judges so that they apply only to groups and individuals that sued.
That means the birthright citizenship proposal can move forward in the states that challenged it as well as those that did not.
The decision does not address the legal merits of the Trump administration's plan, but only whether judges had the authority to put it on hold across the entire country.

What proposal? They're just doing it! A proposal would be a bill in Congress, a constitutional amendment, regulations submitted for public comment, etc.
