the problem I feel is that its out of place, as some have put it, this "MCU level comedic character" is out of place in a Metroid game, and it ruins the mood.

Okay, I watched another preview and got dismayed when he wondered why she wouldn’t use a save station, then had his voice-line interrupted by himself to tell Samus how to use missiles.
Quip-dialog is something I can live with, constantly interrupting the player on how to play is baffling.
Why not write the dialog after completing something versus telling you what to do? That would effectively work well here. Samus completes massive puzzle room: “Wow never thought to do that!” Versus: “MISSILES CAN HURT THESE ENEMIES.”
I’m now on-board that this was a weird choice.
