In June, Latricia Green pleaded for a protection order from her ex-husband. It was denied. She asked again in July. It wasnโt served.
She was shot and killed by her ex-husband this morning inside a Detroit hospital
The cries for help from Latricia Green appeared in black and white, first in a personal protection order sought on June 13th of this year in Wayne County Circuit Court.
The court should have it served for safety reasons.
He should have been arrested and jailed. The judge have referred it for investigation.

This happens all the time - both the violence and the ignoring of women. Most violent deaths of women occur at the hand of an intimate partner. How horrible to have to predict your own imminent death.
It's frustrating because TO/PO do not always guarantee their security.

Wayne County court denied mine against someone threatening me on my front porch with video and a cop present, and GRANTED one to my husbandโs ex after she hit him with her car with the kids inside of it and he had major injuries. Theyโre corrupt and horrible at what they do, and itโs dangerous

The 1st time I realized that the justice system, specifically police, don't protect women was when I was a child watching Nancy McKeon play Tracy Thurman in a movie on Lifetime. This was 1989, and we've made no progress with domestic violence protection since then. Latricia's fam deserve justice!

In April, this very thing happened to my best friend of 30 years. We were at the courthouse at 7:30am Christmas Eve morning; wrote a three page letter to the judge pleading for protection. He had ten guns and loads of ammunition. Denied. Four months later he shot her twiceโ in the head and chest.
