  1. TBF, it was really the most solid pick if you look at what games they had available to work with at the time. Ghouls’n Ghosts would’ve been ready in theory at that point (launched in Japan 11 days prior to the system coming out here), but I doubt Capcom would’ve signed off on it.

  2. They needed something to shove the "this is arcade gaming at home" and whilst AB is a snooze fest it was one of those games that highlighted the shift that was coming (in the UK at least)

    It also forced everyone to play AB to the point it is generally accepted that it's a bit... shite
