My dad was this way. Photography was about the only way I think he really knew how to express himself. I still have his first camera, an old Minolta. Seeing this made me think of him, and that always makes me smile. So, thank you, friend. That is a pretty remarkable lens you have there.

So jealous. My sister and I are pika watch volunteers in the Columbia Gorge and we have yet to see one this summer, let alone one that has mountains in its eyes.

When we travel, I usually leave my camera and multiple lenses at home. We only use carry-on luggage, and my kit would fill up one bag. Cell phone cameras have come a long way, but there are many, many times each trip where I do wish I had my camera. There really is no replacement for good glass!
