A middle aged white man shitting himself about NYC is such a wild juxtaposition next to my 8 year old reading a subway map because she wants to tell us which stops to use. We fly into NYC for vacation a lot and my kids (or me) are never scared of taking the subway from JFK in Queens.

There's a lot of good in the Atlantic, but there's also a fair amount of....this stuff. It just seems lazy and hackish, and rests on assumptions that the regime actually cares one whit about the supposed rationale/has any shred of honesty. Which is frankly dumb.

We have the same thing in the UK - the right are constantly producing articles full of lies about how dangeous London is. The fact that it's a hugely successful diverse city with a Muslim mayor could just have something to do with their hatred.
