I repeat something I posted earlier. In the UK Thatcher sold off public housing. This meant many workers needed mortgages. That makes people less likely to strike. Subsequent legislation meant people’s homes then had to be used to pay for elder care. Next blame everything on the worlds dispossessed

The way I think about it, unions help to level the playing field between workers and employers.
This is partly because it's harder for workers (esp with children &/or a working spouse) to pull up roots to take a non-local job than for an employer to hire workers from outside the local labor pool.

True…that begs the question why would any union member vote for trump. My dad drove a semi most of his life and belonged to the union. He used to say that any union member who voted republican should have their head examined.

This hasn't just been Trump. The attack on Unions has been in the GOP playbook for decades.
