Why has Trump been attacking unions and workers’ rights?

He wants working people to feel helpless and divided.

Trump and his billionaire backers realize that the collective power of a unified labor movement outweighs their own power.

Know this: Workers outnumber the oligarchs.

  1. You're giving trump WAY too much cognitive credit.

trump attacks unions because hitler attacked unions.

Everything trump says & does is from hitler's playbook

  2. I repeat something I posted earlier. In the UK Thatcher sold off public housing. This meant many workers needed mortgages. That makes people less likely to strike. Subsequent legislation meant people’s homes then had to be used to pay for elder care. Next blame everything on the worlds dispossessed

  3. Nope.

Liberal policies have failed the working class.

Government interference and regulation has made owning a home out of reach.

Liberal's management of SS and Medicare have brought those to the brink of collapse.

Obviously, liberals can't be trusted to with taxpayer $.

    It's that simple.

  4. They realized this when Taft-Hartley was passed and Unions were at the precipice of a third party, Democrats gave mouth service objecting and Truman vetoed but also used it and the military and Dems never overturned it, fearing Unions. Different time and Unions will never have that power again.

  6. “Workers outweigh the oligarchs.”

Even with their money and toys, they’re still only 1%. These people are on a fast track to being described as, “Wow! They should NOT have fucked with the 99%!”

  7. Well let’s see. I have a foggy memory but I thought many union members actually voted for TACO man. Now how f***king stupid could those people be voting for someone who hates unions and wants to see them gone??? Brain dead Americans that’s who

  8. Perhaps this quote from "A Bug's Life":

Hopper: You let one ant stand up to us, then they all might stand up! Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one and if they ever figure that out there goes our way of life! It's not about food, it's about keeping those ants in line."

  9. The key to understanding the current moment is to understand why the 22nd Amendment came into existence. FDR was not only the most popular POTUS, but his efforts were directed at those rich and powerful people who's greed had created the Great Depression. From FDR's State of the Union message 1944

  10. Come on Americans this is what’s. planned for the UK tomorrow!

Let’s bring peaceful protest to every city in every state in the United States.

Democracy is on the docket across the globe.

    🥳🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇦🤺🤺🤺🤺🔥🆘🆘🆘

The protests, billed by organizers as ‘Workers Over Billionaires,’ are set to take place in cities across the U.S. on September 1

More mass protests planned for Labor Day to rail against Trump’s policies

  11. And the people outnumber all of them. I’m not afraid. I’m ready to fight for democracy. Not capitalism.

  12. I deliver the stupid “Opt Out” anti-union flyers every single month. The conservatives especially like targeting educators and public servants with those it seems.

  13. Yes, most International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) construction agreements contain a no-strike clause during the term of the contract, prohibiting strikes and work stoppages while the agreement is in effect. At least at the IBEW they have been taking the membership’s money!!!

  14. And they're screwed without us. It's a shame that people can't do a general labor strike. Too many people wouldn't be able to pay rent, their bills, or buy food if they went on strike. SMH.

  15. Felon47 and his billionaire backers see working people as a problem. When will poor working people wake up and stop voting for Felon47 and the GOP…..just saying 🤷‍♂️

  16. I have a union job.The GOP fights to take away all negotiated benefits and wants to eliminate positions and hire low wage workers. Yet, here in our backass RED State, many coworkers despise Democrats, and always vote to decimate their middle class jobs just to show the libs. Stupid is hard to fix.

  17. Exactly what I've been saying. They only make up 1% of the population, and that means the people are the majority. We The People are the true power in this world. They should be glad that we don't all go on strike! 🪧💙📣

  19. I don't give him credit for that depth of thought. We're just seeing the manifestation of his bullying hate and disrespect for others.

  20. DOGE had nothing to do with government efficiency or cost-cutting

DOGE was a Union Busting Spree in alignment with Project 2025’s larger anti-labor agenda

The government is the largest unionized worker sector in the U.S.

  21. I know a ton of union members who voted for Trump, far more than voted for Harris. Imagine being that dumb.

    2
  22. I belive the term we are eluding to is precariat. As a Union member, I have seen Union power waning over the years, because none of the Unions speak with one voice.

  23. Check out how he treated people working on his construction sites. trump Tower was built by slaves.

  24. Without our labor, political power is worthless. No elected officials are coming to our rescue.

Organized Labor is our only hope. Everything that has happened in the past 200 days is an attack on workers, retired workers and working g class people.

  25. When he said I am fighting for you everyone thought he meant the common man, he meant the billionaires.

  26. They need us, we don’t need them.

If there were no workers, there would be no oligarchs, because they must exploit our labour to get rich.

If there were no oligarchs, we would all be more equal and better off for it.

  27. Robots have taken blue collar jobs, and advanced AI is going after white collar jobs at a rapid rate. If the oligarchs want us to consume, they will have to provide a Guaranteed Minimum Income.

  28. An Electrician Lech Walesa , lead a 10 million strong tradesmen labor union to defeat the Soviet government and kick them out of Poland! It’s the Solidarity movement!! 👍💙 #resist #persist #ftd

  29. Those numbers don't do much if we're still only trying to work within the rules and with words. When the enemy isn't playing by the rules, we can't afford to.

If this was a democracy rather than a dictatorship, outnumbering would be good enough. But this guy isn't leaving office without cuffs on.

  30. Unions are the reason the middle class was able to get ahead, back when they think America was great.

  31. If only the IBEW, UAW, CWA, Teamsters, etc, pulled their heads out of mango mussolini asshole, cause so many of them voted against themselves.

  32. The way I think about it, unions help to level the playing field between workers and employers.

This is partly because it's harder for workers (esp with children &/or a working spouse) to pull up roots to take a non-local job than for an employer to hire workers from outside the local labor pool.

    1
  33. Donald Trump cares about workers rights! That's why he wants to reduce the number of holidays people have. Or why he makes tax cuts that primarily benefit the rich. And it's why he terminated Department of Labor grants that gave money to non-profit organizations that reduced human trafficking.

  34. This is rich coming from Private bone Spurs who had never shopped for groceries, vacuumed a floor or cooked a meal. He has no clue what a hard days work looks like

  35. True…that begs the question why would any union member vote for trump. My dad drove a semi most of his life and belonged to the union. He used to say that any union member who voted republican should have their head examined.

  36. Outnumbering without organizing is simply an unused energy reserve. We need the unions. We need organization or the sheer numbers won't matter.

Same goes for the anti-MAGA democrats. Without organization we will continue to flounder.

  37. But the oligarchs have the power right now and that needs to change. Let’s go Folks … everybody work to figure this out and make it happen! Put the oligarchs back on their golf courses, they deserve each other, but they cannot be running the country (since they are so bad at it) !

  38. Keep your workers in a constant state of trying to survive. Taking their attention away from fighting for wage equality.
