I don’t like that the “good old days” were like 10 years ago, that seems so wrong
There were no good old days. We didn't get to where we are overnight. Things are worse now than they were previously, but they weren't good back then, just less bad. Or maybe just less visibly bad, depends on who's perspective we're looking at the past from.

Back in the 90s, you didn’t have elected officials openly sympathizing with Nazis. There were some attitudes on issues that were worse, but there a lot to appreciate about a world where Fox News wasn’t a dominating political force.
