GREAT NEWS: Today the court in Santa Barbara granted the motion to quash, adopting reasoning in our amicus brief. The court recognized that, when the government seeks information impacting speech rights, a much higher showing is necessary.
The warrant would have exposed private data of everyone who liked, commented, or messaged these accounts. Universities should protect students' rights to political discourse, not surveil their social media activity. A victory for the whole UCSB community and beyond!
