Just so it's clear. It's not allowing AI because it's trying to create a clean dataset for training AI. It's not because any of the involved parties actually care about human created art.

Demons can lie to you. You have to rebuke them categorically, rather than fold when they say the right words.

Vine is being rebooted under the name diVine, with funding from Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey.

The app plans to feature more than 10,000 previously archived Vines and does not allow AI-generated content.

Just need a clean, fresh data source to keg stand into whatever AI feeds on it.

  2. that doesn't sound right. cleaning a tainted data set is not difficult, so spending these resources rebuilding the platform just for clean data is foolish. that's like building a new house to get out of deep cleaning your fridge. the twist must be something else (or they're just stupid, I guess)

  3. What I'm hearing is "Upload as much AI trash as possible to this service as soon as possible." Feed the monster the same shit they think we want to eat soooo badly.

  4. Y'know I was wondering what the fuck Dorsey of all people was doing with a seemingly anti-AI platform. At first I thought it was just a cynical attempt to grab at an easy audience, make some change on the side, but no, you hit the nail directly on the head. Viler than I expected even of him.

  5. Is there, like, a Nightshade kinda thing, but for videos? Would be funny to deliberately poison the data

  6. Is that true? Are you inferring or do you have some sources for this? I just went from being excited about vine to pissed really quickly

  7. "jack dorsey" is a 19th century pseudonym the devil used in some american folk song about the time someone trounced the devil at cornhole

Not to mention that this new platform will have a Nazi problem, because Jackathan Dorsey does not like when you can block people on the internet.

The rest of the people involved in funding it are AI VC firms.

  10. Genuine question: how do you know this? We could make the argument for any social media site or app atp right? Not saying it’s wrong, wanting to double check info. If they’re about to use it to set up an AI scrape then I also wanna warn people

  11. Also (and more importantly) - how...can they stop external scrapers from using the content for AI?

    Publicly accessible is publicly accessible.
