I think it's easy to assume this is just Reform adjacent types, but they've got the backing of the local Tory group with some choice words about "the last 20 years" (Ed: check who was in charge then) and the, erm, French burning sheep at calais?

He thinks the ongoing flag protests are a far better option than rioting and describes these small acts of defiance as “quite heartwarming”. To him, raising flags is a sign of our civilisation. “We’re not French, we don’t stop lorries at Calais and burn sheep”.
