For @dburch01.bsky.social, it feels like 'highhandedly dismissing the other point of view' is a way they convince themselves of deep engagement they haven't actually bothered to do.
To take an electoral system I dislike more than first past the post - the new Senedd system has many shortcomings, but it did not come at a huge change cost! Indeed one common problem with changing electoral systems is it is so easy! It's why we have SV rather than AV for mayors.

It's cheap, it is fairly easy - if you care about 'better representing people's actual first preferences in government' or 'making it harder for governments to do things' it is far and away the easiest, least cost per effort change imaginable.

Why is it worst than FPTP? The only criticism I can see is no “local” MS as you have how many in one area now.
