During World War I the consumption of cottage cheese was encouraged with the intent that people would eat less meat so that it could be saved for the infantry.

Per serving it has 11.8g of protein, 24% of selenium, 22% of B2 and B12, 10% of calcium, 14% phosphorus, 12% B5 and 11% of B7!

I have half a rock melon (cantaloupe), seeds scraped out, and filled with cottage cheese. The sweetness goes well with the acidity. Also, watermelon, peaches, most other fruits. Yum.
