Once again, to all of my Canadian followers, this is INCREDIBLY ILLEGAL here. No private company can discriminate against LGBT content in any way. It is enshrined in federal law. Call and ask stripe why they're breaking Canadian hate crime laws. Call your local NDP or Liberal party rep and ask them.

Same during my call- the wording I used was “non-explicit, legal, non-adult LGBT content”, and I got back the response that “yes, stripe is blocking this. We’re a private company, we make our own rules about it.” Was hung up on when I asked why.

  1. Hell even call your local Con MP if you're in a place they won. Forbidding legal businesses from operating is violently anti-capitalist and they could very easily discriminate against Christians if they can discriminate against queer people.

  2. Don't we have extremely antiquated obscenity laws on the books that just get enforced unevenly?

There's a company in Montreal that runs all the porn websites but if a queer bookstore in Victoria receives a book in the mail alarm bells go off.
