Important question - Have there been any books that adequately summarize the developments in anti-trans law and transphobia over the last two years yet?
I'm realizing my rec from last year, Shon Faye's 2021 primer, is pretty outdated by now given how rapidly things have devolved.
not quite what you're looking for, but I'm working on a book proposal on trans virality that would include a lot of this, and I've got a related journal manuscript in the revision pipeline that I'd be glad to send. I can also point you to recent journal articles that would likely be of use!
I have the feeling alot of authors are waiting to see how bad things truly get before they publish. You could write a book about the past 2 years of anti trans laws and within a week of publishing have it be outdated.

The attack on trans rights in the United States is worse than you think.
I can't think of anything, between how fast things are devolving and the slow timeline of publication.
I fear things are moving too fast for any book to stay relevant for very long.
Not a book, but the documentary "Heightened Scrutiny" is the best primer at this time I can think of.
I want to point people to a book about the current political moment, but also it's been less than two months since Skirmetti and I don't really know what to recommend anymore.
