Werner was proven at Fizzy Pop but had a big step up to make because Fizzy Pop never won the league. To some degree he was proven, but his level and Wirtz is not comparable. I never heard anyone say Wirtz was "easily Germany's best player" or "the player they should build around for the next decade"
