Japan broke it's All-time NATIONAL heat record for the 2nd time in... checks notes... less than a week! It's not coincidence. It's climate change. Japan is surrounded by the most anomalously hot water on the planet right now. The city of Isesaki hit 107 - it's in a valley NW of Tokyo. 1/

  1. Many decades ago, there was talk about the next ice age and global cooling. Truly those were happier times.

  2. No one tell the Europeans, they'll be here in seconds to explain why it's actually 10C cooler but somehow worse in Britain

  3. In the meanwhile, Uruguay is already at 75% renewable of all energy use.

Uruguay was nearly bankrupted by fossil fuels use

    They are now near independent

And economy is back under control!!

Why isn’t this in the news???

Fight climate change AND become energy independent!!

  4. Is anyone doing anything about it? I don’t think so. My wife & I are in our 70’s/80’s. We’ll make it through. Our daughter is in her 40’s (no children). She’ll make it through. The generation after hers probably is going to have survival issues. By that time responsible politicians will be gone too

  5. And not there are fears of what these record temps will do to rice crops across the country!

  6. Jeff i don't mind you used Fahrenheit im on my phone and can do a simple conversion on my phone. What I do mind is CLIMATE CHANGE! 😫

  7. Obviously this is a lie because water boils at 100 deg. And Japan definitely uses a metric system. So checkmate.

  8. This is picked up by an international audience (e.g. me in the UK), 95% of which don't understand these moronic units. A simple conversion to ºC would save a lot of effort and create better engagement. #MoreMetric.

  9. Do the Japanese use Fahrenheit?

107 vs 106 is only half a degree difference in Celsius.

  10. Actually no one knows what the temperature was before records were kept.

This All-time bs is just click bait.

  11. Fuuuuuuck..... I live in Tucson where we regularly hit 107f, but we have a DRY heat. I CANNOT imagine 107f in the high humidity of a Japanese summer 😭😭 not just brutal, gotta be deadly ~ wet bulb territory

  12. 41.7 °C. Més de 10 °C que el que fins ara era habitual. Acompanyat d'una anomalia tèrmica de l'aigua de la mar. No hem posat restriccions radicals a l'emissió de diòxid de carboni i metà i ara ja som dins de la catàstrofe.

  13. Well, according to the Orange farce, if we drill baby drill, dig baby dig, we can use all them fossil fuels to work the Air Conditioning... Maybe we can use huge air conditioning to cool down cities .. just like when I suggested bleach to fight COVID... I have the best ideas... Love me.....

  14. They will say it's because insert some baseless excuse that has been disproven by science years ago here

  15. To republicans its a hoax..but the insurance companies rely on hard data to set their rates and they say climate change is real, and that as predicted, a warming world also brings more frequent and more intense storms globally. Insurance companies leaving Florida and Texas, and higher rates for all.

  16. If the ocean is hotter the typhoons an subsequent hurricanes are bigger, badder, an more catastrophic. Bye bye ocean front dwellers !!

  17. Good thing that they will soon be importing Ford F150 monster trucks. This will certainly help them flee the weather apocalypse.

  18. It’s brutal with the humidity. I live in Tokyo and yesterday was probably the hottest day and night I’ve ever experienced

  19. But the USA president says climate change is a hoax and therefore he’s destroying two multimillion dollar satellites to hide his lies.

  20. A strong heat ridge to the south is now giving way to a deep trough with gusty winds ahead of it. Nestled in-between mountains, a downslope wind likely amplified the heat through compressional heating. I'll follow up later with an animation.

  21. No one could see this coming.

Correction: EVERYONE could see this coming, explaining why in the US Trump Republicans have been cancelling climate science fast as they can.

  22. The fact that Japan is hitting temperatures that we see the desert but they have insane levels of humidity makes me so uncomfortable. I’m almost glad to live in an oven. I miss the days when this was just for Arizona. Inflicting this heat on the rest of the planet is horrifying.

  23. We were there a couple of years ago in September. It got up to 36 degrees Celsius. I don't usually sweat at home, but I was an absolute puddle, to the point of having to tie a little towel around my neck. Their heat is different. Those poor people 😬

  24. The evidence is there, but in the U.S. conservative Republicans continue to insist that climate change is a hoax invented by liberals. There is no end to the stupidity.

  25. With their humidity that is no joke. Was there just a couple of weeks ago thinking “I’m from FL so no big deal”. It was brutal and that was at 95 F 🥵

  26. I'm living through it and it's not very enjoyable. I got heat exhaustion last Tuesday after less than 30 minutes (split 10, 5, 10) outside. It's brutal and made worse by the lack of greenery.

  27. Flash flooding caused by a massive cloudburst was filmed wiping out buildings in a Himalayan town in India on Tuesday, as rescuers fear dozens are trapped.

  28. There is no way Japan got over the boiling point of water two weeks in a row...

Next you'll try telling me that's in Fahrenheit- like Japan would ever use that outdated noise.

  29. Anyone who doesn’t believe that climate change is happening, and that we’re making it worse, is delusional or stupid. And anyone who know it’s happening but claims it’s not for political or financial gain is beyond EVIL!

  30. The confusion of climate change and weather is one of the major hindrances in getting the reality of climate change accepted. Add in the tendency to call it “global warming” and you make the skeptics job too easy.

  31. Allow me to correct to you it's 41°C Which is a lot ... but not as much as 50°C in Turquey this year ; The difference is that we are reaching in some place not a maximum never approch but a limit to life it-self (around 55°C)

    0
  32. I still maintain part of the problem was that originally it was labelled global warming and everyone in the Midwest US heard "you won't have to shovel snow out of your driveway ever again" and so didn't see the problem

  33. Japan broke heat record…41.8ºC breaking the previous week record of 41.2ºC…..there fixed that for you….as Japan uses C. Geez, the USA has to get the F out of reporting temperatures;)

  34. Oil coal..greed..why not invent the next propulsion Japan and ditch oil/gas....I wish Shell,Mobil,Chevron,B/P,et al. Would stop the greed steal of oil!!! Mother will bless you and humanity may not go extinct as soon as we will if oil continues

  35. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. My family is planning a trip to Japan at the end of September. Hope the temperatures get cooler by then. How are the locals dealing with it?
