Payette Interagency Dispatch is tracking eight new smoke reports from the storm this evening. 2 of them are on the ridge at Tamarack, one (initially recorded as the West Fire) appears to be in bounds at Tamarack Ski Area. This fire is visible from Satellite & in the Tamarack webcam #IdahoFire
Big lightning storm passed through Carmen, Idaho area this morning 8/13 from 4:30 to 5:30 am with heavy winds and rain.
We had thunder and lightning earlier but actually had rain too this time 🤞🏻
Also, if you're looking for these fires in WatchDuty, it's not there yet because Payette Dispatch hasn't upgraded the fire from a Smoke Check to Wildfire in their computer-aided dispatch system. I dare say the poor soul on dispatch night shift is hellishly busy at the moment.
