Noone really liked Rogers out on the right; there some case for it however, if he's needed to create chances. He's struggling to do from the left so far.

My rolling mins KPI analysis showed drops in shots, xG, & progressive actions but increases in shot assists & xA. bsky.app/profile/1874...

Rogers may become the 2nd of our 2.5 attackers but at the moment he's asked for too much. To be both the carrying progressor & shot producer, too much unless you're Saka.

If we want him in the box for shots get him central, here I want him as the .5 progressing, go at Richards & box crashing.

I can see that argument. I guess when Kamara is fit he could be the left sided 8 & see more of the pitch from the side.

He adds ball retention wherever he is on the pitch with his magic arse haha. I might consider that if we were away & be a bit more conservative. At home though I personally would prefer the vision to pick out a run from Ollie or Malen against that back 3.

I understand why people do though I think the Onana/Kamara pivot is here to stay & better guard against defensive transitions. Brentford had to go with balls over the top (which Pau didn't handle for the goal. We lacked creativity in the final 3rd, & against a 3 Tielemans adds far more than McGinn.

So the 2nd attacker has to come from our right width, surely Malen or Guessand have to come in with Kamara out right? Guessand has played more RW recently, but Malen has a slightly better history of carries & take ons that will be nessisary against Guehi; get behind Sosa, force them back.

On to Palace next week, assuming Kamara is injured, but Kinda will be back a DOGSO red is only a one match ban. This is how I go in. Get ball progression & width from Maatsen, possession from Onana/McGinn, Tielemans creative final third passing could come from the left though so why Rogers there?

McGinn & his keep away arse definitely have a role to play this year but being Leon Bailey isn't that. Malen looked great there in preseason & seemingly can't get a look in.
