The fact that the immigrants we've grievously mistreated are still gracious and hopeful should make us even more ashamed.
Our country sent this young man and hundreds of others to a foreign gulag to be tortured and sexually assaulted.
Thank you for raising these question in this way: what did we all know and what will we do about it? What do we owe the people we have tortured, ruined livelihoods of, killed, separated their families…punishing perps is all well and good, but moral harm and redress is a whole other topic. Thank you.
