With only 145M people, they’re closing in on 1% of the entire population wounded or killed in Ukraine. Not certain of the gender ratio in the Russian population, but they don’t conscript women so that 1 million is way more than one percent of the male under 40 population. A disaster for Russia.

Well that's good news. But Russia is also very slowly gaining ground and they are getting support from other countries like China and North Korea. Plus Putin has doubled down on continuing the war to get everything he wants and we have a president who is doing everything for Putin.

This quagmire is worse for Russia than Afghanistan was. The Ukrainians have been resilient and innovative. Their incursion into Russia earlier, daily drone sorties deep inside Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula, etc.
