So my takeaway from this is that diet change is not only possible, but probable.
It is not written in stone that we will be chowing down on cheeseburgers in a few decades. It was not that long ago that few people had even heard of a cheeseburger.
Basically all Italian pasta recipes go back to a single cookbook in the 1960s. Fondue was invented as a marketing ploy by the Swiss cheese union in the same decade. Sushi was mostly tuna until a Norwegian guy invented salmon sushi to promote salmon exports to Japan in the 1980s

the CBC was founded as a bulwark against US cultural imperialism, to ensure we had canadian news and canadian culture.
there should be a renewed emphasis on that mandate, particularly to stop reporting so much on what happens in the US for eyeballs and ad dollars.

It's not the 50's anymore. Canada needs to build coast-to-coast electric passenger rail. We need urban infrastructure that does not doom us to car dependency.
