Not that it matters, but it makes me particularly sad that it's him.

I called Sen. Cornyn's office because I'm a constituent and and I care about the Constitution. The Senator is proposing empowering the FBI to arrest political adversaries - a dangerous precedent for our country.
This is a demand for unconstitutional, arbitrary power. There is no offense against the United States here. The FBI has no role to assist the State of Texas in becoming an authoritarian enclave.

All the President’s Men totally holds up and Robert Redford is way too attractive to be a reporter.

All the Presidents Men on the big screen tonight - not at all relevant.

not at all, I like explaining things, and hate when I use language that doesn't make sense to people. Occupational hazard;)

oh, sorry - redistricting happens every 10 years, after the census. By mid-cycle I mean within the 10 year block. States have done this before when a party takes over - and it's contentious. But for a party in power to do it after the census, and then again before the next census is new.
-
and I think when I'm quoting myself, it's a good sign that it's time to step away and get some work done;)

Articles keep ignoring this point - yes, gerrymandering happens. Yes, mid-cycle gerrymandering has happened.
This is different. Rs drew the maps. They want to draw them again. This sets a precedent for those in power to consistently redraw lines to maximize power. Politicians picking voters.
I want every TX story on redisctricting to point out that what's different here is that it's a mid-cycle gerrymander by the same party that did the original gerrymander.

This would be shocking news to the white students I know who have worked for her.
Charlie Kirk accuses Rep. Jasmine Crockett of being part of an “attempt to eliminate the white population in this country”

I like this framing - if you stand by your policies, why would you need to change the districts?
