This is completely true - but the same argument applies for wheelchair accessibility, and yet we still have the phrase 'wheelchair user'.

The thread was saying that the distinction isn't politically important, which is obviously untrue. Someone who medically transitions has a material need for access to that healthcare that someone who doesn't, doesn't.

I feel like people keep forgetting this. The supreme court did it. Cass did it. And people who want us dead will keep doing it.
A better argument: all trans people need access to HRT and other GAC. Don't have to use it. But they need the option.
sure, but "trans people don't need HRT" was used by the supreme court as an argument to allow the banning of hormones. that's materially harmful to me and a lot of my friends.

obviously it's not most of either group, but that doesn't mean 'these groups are the same'

the only way I can maintain my sanity is by recognising that I am imperfect (as is everyone) and that I should do my best, or at least 'good enough' - anyone who thinks they're completely innocent is deluded.
It's funny how, even in 2025, it holds true that the "I'm a perfect cinnamon roll" posters are usually the nastiest, most dishonest, and cruel people posting on any given app.

time to diypill trans kids in Brighton
The NHS are forcibly detransitioning trans kids in Brighton and calling it “managed withdrawal.” Their own impact assessment acknowledges trans kids will be at increased risk of harm as a result, don’t want this, and are likely to just use DIY hormones instead
