Having to write these bios gives me a sense of existential dread. In other news, some people on other platforms think I occasionally have interesting things to say.

Statement from the American Economic Association on the
Dismissal of the BLS Commissioner

Leaders of the American Economic Association express their grave concern over the dismissal of the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) earlier today.
The independence of the federal statistical agencies is essential to the proper functioning of a modern economy. Accurate, timely, and impartial statistics are the foundation upon which households, businesses, and policymakers make critical decisions. Undermining the independence or credibility of these agencies threatens the integrity of the information that markets, institutions, and the public rely on every day.
Measuring the vast and dynamic U.S. economy in real time is inherently challenging. It is standard practice for statistical estimates to be revised as more complete and higher-quality data become available. These revisions reflect the commitment of statistical agencies to accuracy, transparency, and methodological rigor-not failure or bias.
The BLS has long had a well-deserved reputation for professional excellence and nonpartisan integrity.
Safeguarding this tradition is vital for the continued health of the U.S. economy and public trust in our institutions.
We call upon elected officials to respect and preserve the independence of the nation's statistical infrastructure.

  2. It has been the honor of my life to serve as Commissioner of BLS alongside the many dedicated civil servants tasked with measuring a vast and dynamic economy. It is vital and important work and I thank them for their service to this nation.

  3. More on Trump’s nominee to lead the office investigating Jack Smith:

➡️ He said that the descendants of slaves should pay reparations to the descendants of slave owners

➡️ He urged Congress to make J6 a national holiday

➡️ He called for Trump’s birthday to be made a national holiday (“MAGA Day”)

"Juneteenth" will always be a fake federal holiday, a national disgrace to everything America stands for.
Any politician who celebrates a fake holiday dedicated to fake martyr George Floyd, in any capacity, is celebrating evil, lawlessness, chaos, and the decline of America.
When reelected President, Donald Trump should officially make June 14th, his birthday, a national holiday and call it MAGA Day. That move, unlike Juneteenth, would totally be America First.Paul Ingrassia & GP

Interesting read with a lot of good information. I believe a combination of releases (and potentially even shutting down the DC Jail permanently) and pardons are in order.
In addition, President Trump should ask Congress to offer reparations to the tune of $1 million per family (at least) as restitution to remunerate the defendants and their families for their losses.
A separate independent fund should be set up by Congress to allow j6 defendants to claim relief, going forward, to any such discrimination - employment, housing, or otherwise - stemming from their J6-related activities.
In addition, Congress should make J6 a national holiday - and memorialize the occasion as tribute to the victims and their families, particularly those who lost their lives.

Paul Ingrassia—a 30-year-old former right-wing blogger and newly minted lawyer who was admitted to the bar in 2024—is Trump’s pick to lead the Office of Special Counsel.

Ingrassia has called Jack Smith a “disgusting man,” accused him of “election interference,” and said he should be jailed.
