THE ONLY HEALTHCARE I WILL SUPPORT OR APPROVE IS SENDING THE MONEY DIRECTLY BACK TO THE PEOPLE, WITH NOTHING GOING TO THE BIG, FAT, RICH INSURANCE COMPANIES, WHO HAVE MADE $TRILLIONS, AND RIPPED OFF AMERICA LONG ENOUGH. 1. Trump "says" he wants to give everyone $2K to buy their own coverage. Ok. $2K would cover about 10 months of health premiums. What do we do AFTER the 10 months????? I'm waiting Donny.............

  2. The tarrifs were supposed to pay for everything. Only brought in $195 billion but he said hes using that money for 8 different things. So the math ain't matching.

  3. This is a scam

Were taxed up the ying yang plus tarrifs. What hes offering is virtually worse than nothing. Its a slap to everyone's face.

  4. Yep his conception of a plan was to have no plan and pay people 1k to buy insurance in a market that doesn't exist and still wouldn't cover 1 doctor's appointment not covered by insurance.

He wants you to die unless you are rich.

  5. We can use our $2000 to buy 1 MONTH of insurance. Basically, the GOP plan is: we rich Republicans have medical care. The rest of you hurry up and die

  6. He has tried the ‘here, you do it’ approach and shrug off responsibility before with people literally dying because of it.

Donald Trump wants states to buy more COVID-19 supplies. Charlie Baker told him they tried and 'lost to the feds.'

  7. Does he think people will use those funds for health insurance?

Oh, and where do they get this health insurance from? Maybe, a health insurance company. Maybe one of the big, fat, rich insurance companies.

    What an idiot!

  8. He’ll support it because it’s a “pretend” kind of health insurance policy that has absolutely no basis in reality. Trump “supports” it because it’s simple enough for him to think he understands it - when actually it’s ridiculous. Much like having “almost a cleansing” from bleach to treat Covid.

    0
  9. Oh yes because the American public has the knowledge of the insurance industry to negotiate individual contracts with Insurance companies.

$2K wouldn't even cover the cost of the attorneys needed for such negotiations, let alone coverage.

  10. Consistent theme in his policy approach: individualized cash transfers as a universal fix. The reality is that direct payments don’t build systems that require coordination and shared investment. “Everyone negotiates alone” would only increase inequality. We need more "we", not more "me"! 🙄

  11. I have family that still wonder why I can’t sit across the table from them and break bread without a completely dumbfounded look on my face wondering how they could not only have voted for this insanity, but have doubled down in their support 😳.

  12. A "solution" that makes the healthcare problem worse. It also doesn't make Epstein go away, make anything more affordable, or raise his poll numbers one point. He's flailing like a carp on the dock.

  13. The only government I will support with my tax dollars is one that understands how things work and cares enough about the people to make sure they're not dangled a pittance to cover their needs. It's OUR money. Why would we send it to you to send back to us? HOW F*CKING STUPID.

  14. I feel like those women in the TV commercial, “That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.”

  15. Isn’t single-payer the only way to take healthcare out of the hands of the ‘big, fat, rich insurance companies?’ Wouldn’t they end up with the money under Trump’s ‘plan’ anyway?

    0
  16. I have health insurance through my employer and I still spent over $12k on medical bills, because even with insurance, our healthcare system is a scam. Sending me a couple grand is not going to do anything.

    1
  17. They’ve had 15 fucking years to come up with an alternative to the ACA and this is what they come up with? The big, fat, rich and might I add greedy insurance companies have always been the problem. The CEO’s are prob all friends if his!

    0
  18. $2000 is not enough money to buy healthcare insurance. That is equivalent to 1 months payment for health insurance for one person.

    1
  19. I'm unclear on how we're going to buy insurance without giving money to insurance companies. Unless the government is going to sell insurance...

    1
  20. I actually did this, one time, before the ACA.

My employer didn’t offer insurance so I called Blue Cross and requested a plan for me & my 3 kids.

The quote they gave me was $12,500 per month. Why? They weren’t set up to write plans for individuals.

  21. But your preexisting conditions will never be covered like Obama Care

    1
  22. A revelation occurs; Trump has a plan that he wraps up in pretty words. As usual, no analysis of the details or long-term effects. A simplistic, ridiculous idea that popped into his head. The insurance companies will still make a fortune. MAGA dumbasses negotiating with big companies?? Good luck.

    0
  23. GOP solution: Make individual taxpayers negotiate with insurance companies, "WHO HAVE RIPPED OFF AMERICA," instead of using the power of numbers to negotiate prices. Better to remove insurance companies from the health CARE debate entirely.

  24. This is up there with injecting bleach, shoving a light saber up your bum, old fashioned groceries, and his latest - marble linoleum.

  25. What money is the government going to send me? They don’t pay for my insurance, my employer does. Instead of single-payer healthcare apparently he’s proposing 350-million-payer healthcare.

    0
  26. right, because individuals negotiating with huge corporations has worked out so well in the workplace 🙄

oh and for consumer rights too

    0
  27. All of these ridiculous proposals are coming from a demented mind, this man is not well.

    0
  28. Giving money to individuals simply pits the individual against the billion dollar corporation. A no-win situation. When the billion dollar corporation is forced to deal with everyone mediated through the government the relationship is far more equitable. But they DON'T WANT THAT.

    0
  29. So, just ending the ACA and going back to when the insurance companies decide who lives and who dies. Fuck you if you have a pre-existing condition, as most people do. And exactly who does he think The People are going to buy this great insurance from, pray tell?

    0
  30. And these big, fat, rich insurance companies are going to make it affordable to buy directly from them???? 🤔 Someone ask him how that’s going to work. I’m sure he has a concept….

    0
  31. A business man lol without any understanding of basic concepts like buyer power.

Use your own time and money to call dozens of insurance companies for comps.

The policy speak is a twisted riddle meant to make apples to apples difficult.

First you have to get through the menus of press 1 press 5

  32. So his healthcare plan after the longest “two weeks” ever known to man equalling ten plus years, the empty binders and the empty promises is to provide NO HEALTHCARE PLAN! Ok.

ALT: a man with a mustache is sitting in front of a group of people with the word surprise .

  33. This is nothing more than a demand for big insurance companies to give him money and crowns. He’ll reverse course after he gets his payola.

    0
  34. Sure…

Me: “Thanks for your quote, United Healthcare, but let me counter: I believe a 35% monthly premium is more fair, don’t you agree?”

    UHC: …

    Me: “Hello?”

    UHC: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    0
  35. Individuals have no power to negotiate healthcare costs. The Gvt does - which is why every other major nation has a single payer healthcare system.

    This is not complicated.

    0
  36. Anything less than Single Payer is nothing more than servicing lobbyists like a whore, and commissions, commercials and lies. Quit fucking around with the lives of our citizens, capitalism cowards.

    0
  37. Making Medicare available to everyone is the only way to go.

But it needs to be more affordable so that people aren’t forced to go with an “advantage plan” (where insurance companies have the advantage).

    0
  38. So, after a decade, he still doesn’t understand what health insurance is.

    3
  39. And when life intrudes & the car dies and you need a new furnace? Does he understand the word "insurance?" Rhetorical. Of course he doesn't.

    0
  40. Goes to show how dumb the orange man is; who does he think the money sent to an individual for healthcare insurance will go to? An insurance company. Create a single payer, Medicare for all healthcare system & that's how to lower healthcare costs then no money goes to private for profit companies

    0
  41. For Trump it has always been about dismantling Obamacare. He doesn’t have a better plan to replace the ACA. He never has.

    0
  42. Is he saying individuals have greater bargaining power than a large group?

Also, does this mean he's giving up his government funded healthcare, too? Because I very much doubt $2,000 would cover his 'totally standard' MRIs.

    2
  43. Oh sure - is he gonna give me $1350/month plus my $6300 deductible=$22,500/year to cover my ins? And then the ins co will kick me off bc of my cancer hx? ffs These greedy bastards I'm angry at Dems too for not even being aware of or trying to fix the premium price surge over the last 5 yrs.

    0
  44. as stated….”THE PEOPLE WILL BE ALLOWED TO NEGOTIATE & BUY THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, INSURANCE.”

One glitch…that ins. company does not exist.

Ins. should not apply to health.

Ins. is the problem! Healthcare needs to be paid through taxes w/o fraud.

But the grossly rich wouldn’t prosper as well!🤷‍♀️

    0
  45. So he wants to gut the ACA to give money to people who will then give it back to insurance companies? Do I have that right?

    0
  46. So basically the government gave money to people, under the ACA, to afford insurance plans. Trump is just basically suggesting doing the same thing. This is drivel and propaganda for Maga who will think it's something totally new when it's essentially the same deal.

    0
  47. What he means...

"THE ONLY HEALTHCARE I'LL SUPPORT OR APPROVE IS ONE WITH MY NAME ON IT. I DESERVE TO GET THE MONEY THAT THE BIG FAT RICH INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE GETTING."

    0
  48. Who does this brainless moron think is going to get our money? The big fat insurance companies that can and will dictate the cost.

    0
  49. The only HEALTHCARE he will support has absolutely nothing to do with HEALTHCARE. He is so envious of PRESIDENT OBAMA. It's as if Obama denied him the pleasure of giving him a b job😹

    0
  50. Media reports soon: Trump Floats Universal Healthcare The president appeared to suggest eliminating insurance companies and letting the government negotiate healthcare costs for Americans.

    0
  51. Well, this could mean it'll be a grand era of mom and pop corner store insurance companies or Trump Insurance™ for all with "for all" meaning sending those direct payments right back to him.

    0
  52. What in heaven’s name is the diff btw consumers buying insurance and paying insurance companies directly and buying insurance and paying insurance companies via the exchanges??

    1
  53. Medicare for all, Spanky. Medicare for all. It’s the only way to get rid of those big bad insurance companies.

    0
  54. Who does he think Americans will be paying health insurance premiums to? Or does he think Americans will forego insurance all together and have to negotiate each visit or procedure with each individual provider?

    0
  55. So you're sending us $2000 to buy our own insurance which will be the exact same insurance we buy now. Not any cheaper and not any better. This is your healthcare plan?

ALT: a man with long hair and a beard looks angry
    1
  56. I guess we will use that 2k check to buy some top notch insurance. Does that include all federal government employees, such as Congress and the Walking Corpse in Chief? Will that 2k check be able to cover that MRI you got on your tiny brain?

    0
  57. THERE IS A BIG, FAT, RICH PEDOPHILE WHO HAS RIPPED OFF AMERICA LONG ENOUGH. THE PEOPLE HAVE ALLOWED IT FOR TOO LONG! ENOUGH! POWER TO THE PEOPLE! -Fixed it.

    3
  58. He’s waiting for the insurance companies to bribe him, name a health plan after him and then he’ll change his mind.

    0
  59. We are cooked as a nation when we elect know-nothings, who advocate for dumb stuff like this. How is someone with a pre-existing condition supposed to negotiate affordable insurance on their own?

    0
  60. Unclear but I think he means send people money (how?) they can use to pay medical expenses. like Flex Spending accounts.

Of course, it will never be enough to pay for serious care, but if you get unspent $ at the end of the year many Trumpers will love the idea. They gambled before ACA, after all

    0
  61. Uh, so if youre giving money to people to pay companies for insurance how exactly are you stopping money from going to "big, fat, rich insurance companies"?

    0
  62. If Trump wants to bypass the insurance companies, then he should love Universal Health Care.

    0
  63. My employer provides several meetings and a virtual assistant to help us choose between their TWO insurance options (that they have negotiated) and it still is stressful to decide. Obamacare was like a month of anxiety each year, despite comparison tools. No one wants to “negotiate” insurance.

    1
  64. Okay so his plan is to give everyone $2,000 and say now you're on your own to pay for health care costs? Cool, cool. That should be plenty. How has no one else come up with this brilliant plan yet?

    0
  65. This stupid f*cker needs to go. He is an idiot that doesn’t know how anything works and is destroying our country.

    0
  66. Ditto money towards defense. Let folks negotiate their own deals with Boeing and Raytheon to get aircraft and missiles to defend their neighborhoods. Will give each person $5K directly to manage their own militaries

    0
  67. That is a total lie. Nobody will have insurance. Trump is a mentally ill lying [pedophile
