it’s wild how normalized punching down was back then to me.

And I don’t just mean like ones that had self caused controversy.
I also mean like ones that were the victims of online weirdos back then essentially harassing actual children for “not drawing well enough”.

tbh, that whole area of animation meme YouTubers is a mess and I’m glad I never ended up joining it. I’ve seen some bad cases come out from that community.
It’s thankfully more stable now but a lot of makers of those from around the 2010’s have had some pretty harsh controversies.
