He's a little more restrained in this and The Ghost Breakers. Unusually for Hope, his comedy compliments his character and the movie rather than dominating it. Goddard is effortlessly beautiful and charming, isn't she?

Some movies just take you back in time, don't they? I watch this and I'm immediately transported back to being about 11 or 12 years old, and catching it on a late night showing on TV.

I enjoyed the book immensely, and was really looking forward to this. If they adopt the other books, then I hope they take the critiscm to heart and go for a longer run.

The whole thing felt rushed. A 2 or 3 episode run would have given it chance to breathe. Terrific actors are given little chance to establish their characters.
