Imagine you woke up tomorrow and the United States of America has disappeared. Just disappeared. How would that affect your country?

Assuming all residents disappear with it, I would be gone, and it would be a worthy sacrifice.

Congo and Cambodia et al would lose their backing currencies. Everybody would have to carry giant wads of small bills until new larger denominations gained guarantees

Positively.

Coup d'états would be less frequent. Population of foreign spies would decrease considerably. National cinema would flourish. Evangelicals would say the USA was enraptured, but then they would panic once they realized they were left behind. And I would laugh at them.

Sea fishing might be different, because the water levels would be significantly lower

Australia would be in deep schtuk! Mini-me without the Me? Who’d tell our govt what to do (besides the pro-Israel lobby)?

If the US were gone tomorrow salmon would come back to the northwest in greater numbers. We would struggle economically for a little bit since they're our biggest trading partner (worth it). The planet would clean up. Nobody could hide behind the disgusting shadow of US empire.
