  1. I see the BBC have managed to post this on a day when the Charlie Kirk and Mandelson stories are running, so it won't get as much attention as it might have done on another day...

  2. It’s pretty obvious he gave her the money to pay for it. Gift not taxable unless he dies within 7 years. What’s the problem 😈

  3. Can we make sure this doesn’t just stay as a question on stamp duty!! The question is what were the source of funds for the purchase, whose name was the property purchased under and what relevant taxes have been paid. Providing Kings Council after the event does not exclude him from transparency

  4. Chris Mason tonight suggested on R4 that Farage would have been a better appointment to UK ambassador to the US than Mandy… the Reform bias is strong

  5. Nothing screams "I had nothing to do with it" than, taking advice from a "top" tax barrister (real "man of the people" vibes, there.)

  6. We can rely on #BBC because given Reform polls they want to talk about Reform and Farage constantly

  7. It will be money from Aaron Banks which has come from Russia, probably.

Remember the email "Do not mention Ural Properties", or something similar. Banks actually sent that in an email to the government when he was under investigation. He'd told a colleague that, yet left it in the documentation.

I'm sure he'll say this is a breach of his freedom of expression or something.

  9. If he’s gifted her the money won’t he have to pay tax on that gift as she is not resident in the UK? You are exempt if both of you live here. Also if she is a French resident there is a gift limit of €80k euro. So if she was given the money she owes the French Government some money🫢

  10. Keep following the money. Where did she get the money from ? Then where did that person / company get it from ?
