I think when most Americans hear "socialism" they think of the worst aspects of the old Soviet Union. But Trump is the one trying to have centralized govt control of the economy--extorting concessions from companies, trying to set prices, telling everyone what to do.

Yeah, Cuomo's take on the Erie Canal is wrong, but also, how does he think insulting Chicago gets him elected in NYC? Unless he wants to push the MAGA theme that big cities with Democratic mayors are dystopian hell holes. Interesting position for a Democrat (?) running in NYC.
