Dorky squirrel that draws (sometimes)

  1. I feel like theres a lot of depression going around lately, so as someone struggling I put together some thoughts on what has helped me so far

Unfortunately theres hard pills to swallow to push past the pain barrier of depression, otherwise its a chronic issue that stops you being your best self

    1. Find a solid group of friends to meet up/call with regularly. You dont have to do amazing things, but lack of regular social connection will drive even introverts mad over time without realising thats what's they've been missing.

2. Put your needs first, and don't put up with people being mean to you as there'll always be people out there for you who wont be. If you cant look after or dont have the energy for yourself, you cant be expected to expend what little energy you have on looking after others. I've been guilty of looking after others needs before my own and it just drains you if you're going through a rough patch.

3. Have at least small goals every day, and dont get mad at yourself if you dont meet them even when theyre very small. Its hard to break the bad habits that form out of depression. Doing small goals each day (including personal hygiene stuff if depression has hit you there) can help you feel better about yourself and slowly creating good habits to feel good again.4. Keep creative stuff separate from work while struggling so you dont start to hate it. If you're lacking discipline to self manage yourself or stressing out over not meeting creative obligations, an unrelated job may provide some relief to take back your free time when youre not on the clock.

5. Do something you really want to do as often as you can within your budget. Don't feel guilty about little treats, but don't rely on them as your only source of comfort. Life is about living, never feel guilty for doing something you actively want to.

6. Noone is going to (or shouldnt) judge you if you take a step back from being deep into current politics or negative news stories. Yes, as minorities it feels like a constant fight, but even soldiers need to take breaks so grounding and focussing yourself on what your immediate personal surroundings and situation are, is needed for your mental health. I'm **not** saying don't care about the big stuff, rather if you're struggling don't add additional stress onto your health by feeling like taking a break is neglecting a duty

  2. Less horny post for the last day.

I sometimes wonder how the characters I used to draw back when all my art was primarily SFW would feel about the shift in my work.

I like to imagine they would be supportive, even if they don't fully understand the things I enjoy now, haha!

  3. Voodoo dolls having a set capacity will always be exciting, since whoever it's linked to will reach their limit at the same time, which means you might end up with a city-sized blimp by the time you have a beach-ball-sized doll~ Like @pillowycat.bsky.social's here~

  4. Horny posts are a good place to drop character lore into, right?

As one of the main holders of the arcane knowledge of the magic arts, Alex does not take very kindly to those who use it for naught.. or, you know, for blowing themselves and others up for mere entertainment?

  5. Busy day, but at least I've got yesterday's ready to go-

You kinda want to be able to tell a haunted house apart from a regular abandoned house.. unlike @psmmajus.bsky.social, who didn't seem to understand that hearing moans and hissing in a house is generally not a good sign.

  6. #AirborneAugust is coming to a close soon, so let's keep going with:

    Week 4: WitchCraft

Probably my biggest drawing yet, in terms of size and sheer numbers of characters, featuring Stolas going a little crazy with power at the sheer realization that imps make wonderful blimps
