I hate the narrative that immigration and crime are out of control. Crime has been decreasing for decades and immigrants are less likely to be criminals. What use is there of controlling something for which there is no substantial way of proving it to the voting public?

Not true. California and NY, the 2 big Dem strongholds, have maps drawn by independent commissions. Dems try to play fair but the GOP takes advantage of their goodwill.

This is important but OP's post is more about structural reforms in government than it is about certain political issues, like money in politics. Money in politics should be reduced, but that would be something a multi-proportional government could get done.
