Buckaroo Banzai was always trying to be a niche cult movie. And if I haven't been to the dive nightclub used as "Art's Artery", I certainly went to several places like it when I lived in Central NJ.

There used to be a "Where the Wild Things Are" restaurant at SF Moscone Center when I worked near there, and friends showed up one evening with a plan to "wildly rumpus", though alas the restaurant was closed that day and we all headed to Max's cafe, bouncing across the Moscone roof playground.

Given what most of them think their actual jobs are, and what horrible things they're trying to accomplish at them, that may not be 100% bad. Like Trump playing golf, it at least means he's away from Fox TV and not causing as much trouble as he'd get up to at his desk.

I cannot say the Sad Puppies were totally bad, because they did introduce many of us to Chuck Tingle, who's been a wonderful part of the community, even if they thought they were pwning us by doing so.
