Though myself I think Billy and his band of criminals had as much of a role in the atrocities since they did know what was going on and did not give a flying fuck.
Interesting how history rhymes.

Yeah, after it became unpopular for the US to keep sending arms, so they were pressured especially by the affluent religious groups and old Bill had to put in a call to the Indonesian butcherers to tell them that the game is over.
When people "cared" it was too late.
These are some truly awful people. The US and Europe's role in this is quite horrifying, but it lines up with what they've done in the past. They call for a meeting in September... by then there will be thousands more dead, if not tens of thousands since there's no one to count the bodies properly.
They said it was urgent, and that they needed to stop the ethnic cleansing. If that was a disaster, what is Gaza?
Do not mistake it, this is not being neutral, they are fully complicit with the genocide that Israel is carrying out.
Europe is not in standing in the way, it's only looking at the twitching corpse that is the collective Palestinian population.
These are the same people who bombed Serbia in 1999 over around 50-100 people that died in the 3 previous months in Kosovo before the bombing...
Or as it came to East Timor where so many were murdered and pushed to starvation. All while supported by the US and the UK...
No one cares.
Money talks. There are important countries, interests in those cases outweighs the human suffering, no matter how great it is, no matter how much they want to defy it.
But note that this is nothing new. They close their eyes when it comes to Turkey with its countless violations of intl law.
It is insulting to say that every other country has as much of a bloody history. It is just not true, other countries cannot dismiss ICTY cases nor can they just unilaterally bomb a country's nuclear facilities.
The US is the hegemon, though with Trump and tech bros at the helm not for long.
The US stance on such issues is "I will never apologize for the United States. I don't care what the facts are... I'm not an apologize-for-America kind of guy."
Of course not. Shooting down a civilian plane with 280 passengers, nothing to be sorry about... no one was held accountable.
The US delivered more weapons to Turkey in that post Cold War period than they did in all of the Cold War, and what was it for? To use against Kurds which the US knew, but it didn't care just as it didn't when Saddam Hussein killed thousands of Kurds with chemical weapons.
