What are the stakes? We can have the semi-functional, charming mess or Hell on Earth facilitated by human beings whose cruelty is compounded through culture generationally, and whose culture then alters brain development to compound the next generation's cruelty into sociological battery acid.

At the heart of every true monster is a wounded child. People who do fucked up things indiscriminately aren't monsters, they're banal people with no inner world and no restraint.
Monsters are powerful because they have to hold themselves back, and if you don't understand that, then you can't.

I don't really know if I recognize the inherent worth of every individual. People obsessed with forcing and imposing are worthless to me. The only worth they have is in teaching others that weakness is not a virtue, and while you can be vulnerable, you can still hide your sharpest knives
