It's incredibly easy to doublespeak when the entire media apparatus has decided to report only what people say, and not their actions
Kind of like how Trump keeps telling reporters and other world leaders that he has fixed so many things since he became president like 59 wars and no one is homeless or hungry because everything is so affordable now and every single other world leader loves him, even the ones who have never met him!
