33 years ago today, Andrew was a tropical storm north of Puerto Rico. Three days later, it made landfall in southeast Florida as a Category 5 hurricane. In fact, all four landfalling Category 5 hurricanes in the continental U.S. were tropical storms just three days before landfall!
