When I'd heard he'd got spy cams setup, I was expecting some James Bond style pinhole cameras, tiny holes drilled seamlessly into the decoration that you'd never see. These are relatively large and crudely placed, but I guess when your scumbag targets are horny enough they're oblivious to dangers.

I'd like to believe they have recruitment issues, but I worry this is more about the authoritarian largesse for its supporters. As a dictator, you always want to make sure favoured groups are on your side, and you do so by being generous with the state coffers.

How so?

Why would they need 100 times that? 4 guys in a pickup truck can instigate sufficient disorder to call in the sympathetic cops and close down a polling station "for public safety."
-
Yeah if they need to bump up the numbers, do you rememebr the masked law enforcement suddenly appearing on the street during the BLM protests that were hastily recruited from all over the federal government? The Trump admin has plenty of ready bodies if they want them.
-
(1) ICE's funding boost is going to hire a lot of bodies. (2) They don't need that many bodies. They don't need to disrupt every polling booth, just enough to disrupt 5-10% of the urban vote.
-
They certainly can't cancel the midterms, but I'm worried about ICE lingering outside metropolitan voting centres, eyeing up anyone with darker skin and eager to kick off at the slightest altercation. "Sorry, we had to shut that polling centre down because of the public disorder (we caused)."

Is he grifting, or is he so emotionally invested in his narrative that he's become utterly untethered from reality? I genuinely can't tell, but I feel like a grifter would want to keep moving onto new conspiracies to keep expanding their audience, whereas he's stuck reliving his hits.

Vance's lack of charisma is what potentially makes him more dangerous if he's Maduro to Trump's Chávez, a less charismatic successor to an already authoritarian-leaning leader who then resorts to far more extreme measures to maintain their grip on power after the cult of personality fails.
