Absolutely, 100% correct. The USMCA was a dead letter the moment Trump threatened tariffs against Mexico & Canada. Carney and the Liberals have wasted the past 10 months pursuing comprehensive agreements and a degree of certainty that simply were never, ever, ever on the table. Time for Plan B.

  1. The best way to gauge the cost of time wasted on the USMCA is to consider if the Carney government's policies are capable of dealing with, say, the potential death of the entire auto sector (spoiler: not by a long shot). Because that's the level of crisis we're dealing with.
